I'm back! Time to post about the last couple of months in my world. Firstly, our wedding!
In summary, it was perfect. We were both a bit nervous as to how it would all turn out. I spent many months beforehand planning it with our Maui wedding coordinator, via email. She chose the band, the hair and make-up stylist, the florist - all we knew was the location, which of course was unseen until a few days before.
We had breakfast at Gannon's on the 4th and we were very impressed with the venue. The restaurant is set up at the Wailea Golf Course which overlooks the ocean. We were both feeling pretty good about our pick when we left.
We had organised the Lu'au that evening and it turned out to be a big hit with everyone. We arranged a bus pick-up and our driver was a great host. We were met at the Lu'au by our server, who boarded the bus to greet us, and we all spent the next couple of hours drinking, eating local Hawaiian food and watching the dancers shake their stuff!
Our wedding day arrived! My bridesmaids and I spent the morning and afternoon having our hair and make-up done by Andrea, a very friendly and talkative stylist. B had been banished from our condo for most of the day. My photographer, A, spent time taking photos of all of us getting ready - she did a fantastic job, I'm glad she was there to do it.
And off to the venue we go…..we were almost late and the rain was coming down. We had planned for the ceremony and reception to be outdoors so I was getting pretty nervous as they mentioned bringing it all inside. Noooo! B made the final call and told them to set it up outside - the chairs were wiped off and everyone was seated at the last minute. The rain stopped just in time.
Our wedding coordinator did a great job, as did the coordinator at Gannon's. The flowers were beautiful, the ceremony location looked stunning, as did my bridesmaids (who's dressed matched perfectly!), and the reception, food, music, location and our guests were all wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better day!
