Our first trip was inspired by some friends of ours who had come to visit us from Winnipeg, so we decided a day at the water slides would be fun. The twins loved it. We took them to splash around in our arms in the kids play area, B took M down a small slide or two and we played in the pools. It was a hot day so of course it was refreshing for us all. Our friends had a good time too - KB and B braved the BIG slides, something I will never do. I'm happy to stick to the easy rides with the babies!
A week or so later we made our yearly trip to the island to see my sister and family. We stayed one night in LS at a strange little B&B. The couple who owned it were friendly but odd. The husband met us at the door in a strange manor and awkwardly invited is in. His wife suffers from MS and couldn't walk or get up and down the stairs very well - we felt terrible when she tried to help us with anything. She decided to join us at breakfast the next morning as well. She stared a little too much. Having a conversation with a complete stranger at 9am, while you're trying to eat, is never really easy. At least the room was nice, the food was good and the babies were well behaved guests!
We headed off to Victoria the next day and stayed at a gorgeous hotel downtown. We asked the girl at the info desk where we should get dinner and she suggested an Asian street food diner called F00's. It was de-li-cious! We loved it so much we ate there three out of the next four meals. As we were bound to the stroller, we otherwise roamed the streets of Victoria, did a bit of shopping, and spent an afternoon in the sun on the Empress grounds.
Our final getaway was to Seattle, a city I haven't been to in years. As accommodation there is obscenely expensive, we made a day-trip out of it. Luckily for us the Pike Place market was on. Unluckily we parked right near it and paid an atrocious amount for parking. So high in fact, I'm too embarrassed to even tell you the amount.
There was a lot going on in town when we arrived. We found a group of people exploring and they suggested we head to the EMP museum near the space needle. They were featuring an exhibit on Nirvana and AC/DC - our music era.
Our favorite part of the trip was the glass and garden show by Chihuly, a famous glass-blower. His work was incredible, very intricate and colourful. Part of his work was indoors and the other half was intermixed with the gardens outside. My favorite area were the flowers hanging in the atrium. It's definitely worth a drive down to see it.
B went up the needle at the end of the day. No strollers are allowed up so rather than leaving it in the 'leave at your own risk' stroller parking, I stayed on the ground with the babies. It took him 45 minutes just to get up and back so I didn't bother. Next time.

Those sound like great outings! I haven't been to downtown Seattle or Victoria in ages. I'd like to visit them again some day. Glad you were able to expore a bit...you have very well behaved little darlings which makes things so much easier!
