After my laptop was stolen I thought there was little chance of recovering my music. I had bought most of it on ITunes and was told by a few people it was long gone, though I did still have it on my IPod.
About a year ago I cut out an article about IPod 'Forbidden Questions'. It had instructions on downloading a free program called TinkerTool which allows you to see hidden files when you plug your IPod into your laptop. Once you have TinkerTool you just check the 'Show Hidden Files' box, find your (what used to be hidden) music folder in your IPod icon and copy all the mp3's to your desktop. Voila! I have ALL of my music back! Yay for me!
