We celebrated Christmas orphan-style this year. In the morning, we opened gifts with the twins in the beside to our (real) Christmas tree and took a few photos. They didn't really get the gist of Christmas but they've enjoyed their new presents.
As Ben was rostered on to work on Boxing Day, we couldn't head up to SH to spend the day with his family, so we invited a few of the overseas staff to our house for lunch. I made a turkey and supplied a cold smoked ham. Our guests (two from B.C. and one from Singapore) brought over a chicken curry and home-made desserts, apple pie, sticky date pudding and oreo cream cheese balls. Lunch was delicious!
The weather in the park was perfect so we were able to sit outside chatting for most of the afternoon. Even though we weren't with family it was about as nice of a Christmas day as we could have had.
