The Prom

It looks like our time in St Kilda is coming to an end but it could be the start of an exciting new beginning.

B has been offered a 6 month role through PV at Wilsons Promontory National Park, also known as 'The Prom'.  If they confirm the position it would mean we'd be moving in about a month to a small community in the park called Tidal River.

As far as I can see, the positives are:
  1. We'd be living in one of the most beautiful parks in Australia, surrounded by kangaroos, wombats, parrots, kookaburras and hundreds of other creatures.
  2. The ocean is on our doorstep.
  3. We would be paying $50/week rent for a 3-bedroom house versus the $600/week we would need to stay where we are.
  4. Saving this much money means a lot more money to put aside for Canada next (CDN) summer.
  5. B would be working outdoors, which he loves, and would be 15 minutes from home if I need him.
  6. It's an adventure.
The negatives are we wouldn't have too many amenities, there is a general store, but otherwise the closest town is 45 minutes away.  We'd also be further from B's family and all of our friends/support in Melbourne.  I figure I won't be leaving the house too much for the first 6 months of the twins life anyways so why not be home-bound in a beautiful national park.  We could always hire help if need be.

So, we're awaiting the role confirmation which hopefully will arrive this week.

Just never let the diapers run low and all should be great! :) Sounds like an opportunity for a whole lot of gorgeous outdoor baby photos.
