B & I had Friday and Monday off work. It took three hours to drive to our departing destination and since we were some of the first to arrive, we picked up the groceries for the weekend.
Our boat was brand new and had four sleeping areas, each with our own bathroom! The boat was fully-equipt with a hot tub, BBQ, upper and back deck, big kitchen, dining area and two lounge areas. Once we boarded we were given a quick run-down as to where everything was and how to operate the boat. Then, off we went down the river!
We picked a few people up and dropped a few off along the way - we even had a few visitors jump onto the boat for dinner, including a nasty, stinky stray dog that wouldn't leave us alone. In the end we had to abandon our station for the night and leave him far away on the banks.
Luckily for us, the weather was gorgeous the entire weekend. B had his fishing rod in for most of the weekend but only managed to catch one fish he couldn't keep. There was a fishing derby on the same weekend so we wondered how they all fared! We ate and ate and read and swam, hot-tubbed and all the rest! Spending a few days on a houseboat in good weather is a must-do in Victoria!
I also have a new-found love and respect for Scrabble. K & B brought their travel game and Scrabble dictionary along. I even ended up winning a game using all of my letters in one go, to spell the word 'aunties'. Karen was winning at that point so it wasn't good news for her! B & I will be buying a game and practicing so watch out Grandma! :)

Oooh...the guy on the end looks like Thomas/Damo! How strange!
Sounds like a great weekend! Jealous! Hopefully Palm Springs is as relaxing/rewarding for me!
