This past weekend I was invited by my boyfriend B to join him and his family at Easter in country Victoria, about 7 hours drive North West of Melbourne.
As B's car was written off (by our rear-ender) a few weeks ago, we were only able to take Lola, my little red Diahatsu Charade, on the drive. We packed it with our bags, tennis rackets and B's Labrador/Kelpi cross, Rusty; considering the size of my car, I'm sure we looked pretty silly to anyone driving past!
Four-and-a-half hours later we arrived at B's parents house in the very quaint town of Swan Hill. We had lunch with his family and stayed the night to rest before another 2 1/2 hour drive to Mildura. On Sunday we played in the families H.W. Robertson Golf Tournament which, to his sisters disappointment, B won for the 3rd time.
Meeting B's parents, sister, brother, aunt, uncles and cousins all went very well, they are all very kind, friendly and hospitable folks. I also had the pleasure of meeting B's three nieces (and 3-month old nephew) who were entertaining to say the least!
It was a long drive back to Melbourne on Easter Monday. We left at 11am and arrived home at 9pm. We are both needing a rest from our holidays!
