B called the local paper a few weeks ago and let them know about my 9-ball tournament win. The paper had me come down to get my photo taken and asked me a few questions.
The article came out last Wednesday and I've had a few people take note. The owner and the barista at my local cafe, some of the Parks staff, even the woman in the seafood shop (who's not normally very nice) was pleasant to me this week. It's uplifting to be recognized, even just for a week. Perhaps playing pool has a few perks after all!
